Year 12 Interview skills daySome skills just can't be acquired without real experience.  We were delighted to welcome a group of local employers to school who came to give a taste of the real pressure of a job interview.  They were there to help assess, advise, encourage and improve our Year 12 students' interview skills.  The students and staff would like to thank all those employers who gave so freely of their time and expertise.

Hati_Shelterbox_Appeal_Group_photoBangor Academy pupils joined the relief efforts for Haiti when they held a charity disco, dance display and raffle just before the half-term break. In total they raised £1000 to present to North Down Rotary who will use it to buy two disaster relief “Shelterboxes”.

Congratulations to this intrepid Year 13 pupil who has won the opportunity to join an ambitious three week expedition party to Lesotho. Dirk, a member of Gransha ACF Cadet Detachment, will join 60 cadets from Sea, Army and Air Corps to traverse the Drakensburg Mountains.

Music Maestro Makes it to the Waterfront Hall

James-BowerBangor Academy A-level Music student, James, struck all the right notes at a recent music competition. He was one of only four young maestros to be chosen to have his latest composition played at the Waterfront Hall by members of the Ulster Orchestra and have the performance professionally recorded for posterity. But the unique opportunity didn’t stop there - James conducted the piece too!
